Bernice Spellman

Bernice Spellman was born on May 17, 1925 to the late Edward and Edna Williams. On the morning of April 30, 2019 God silently called Bernice home. She graduated from the North Carolina School System. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savoir at an early age. She was a faithful servant servant for over 60 years at St. Stephens Holiness Church. She joined under the leadership of Bishop Monroe Clark. Bernice served in several capacities as a choir member, a church mother, a State Evangelist of the United Pentecostal Church of
America and an Eldress. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Department. And ministered at the Chesapeake Juvenile Detention Center. Also, she was a
member of the food bank committee and participation in the prayer band with other church mothers. Together they traveled to local communities and ministered and witnessed to many individuals. She was a member of the Chesapeake Senior Joy Club. Bernice enjoyed
making arts and crafts and participating in social outings and activities.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Spellman; her children, Kermit Ray, Barbara Ray Speller, Perry Ray; one daughter in law, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She left to cherish her memory one daughter, Yvette Jones (Joseph); six sons, Allie Ray
(Sherry), Freddie Sr. (Sharon), Bernard Sr., Kenneth Sr. (Laurece), Antonio Sr. (Evelyn), and Dwayn Spellman; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives.
