On March 22, 2021, the Lord summoned his servant Bro. Bernard Weston Taylor to come home. Bernard was born on October 14, 1960 to Eloise Trotter and the late Weston Austin Taylor. When Bernard became of age he met and married Louvenia Davis Taylor. They have been married for twenty-six years as of March 18, 2021 but they also have been sweethearts for a total of thirty-seven years. Bernard loved going and participating in church from a very young age. Bernard had a musical ear at a young age, his mother said he started on the drums then moved to the guitar. He taught himself how to play the guitar. As time moved on the Lord perfected Bernard’s gift. Bernard served the Lord and praised him through the bass guitar. His gift did not go unnoticed. He ministered at Pentecostal Holiness, St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Little Grove, Greater Faith-Suffolk, Greater Faith- Hampton, Union Branch, Corapeake, N.C. and many other churches, choirs and groups. Bernard did not let his disability deter him from giving God the Praise! For if the church door opened, Bernard was sure to be there! The last song he sung was “God’s Grace” by Luther Barnes. Bernard was a Diesel Mechanic and a Service Manager for over twenty-eight years at Thompson Pump, of Chesapeake, Va.
Bro. Bernard leaves to cherish precious memories; his wife, Louvenia Davis Taylor of Portsmouth, Va.; two specials sons, Edward Scott and Brayon Davis of Portsmouth, Va., two daughters, April Holland and Tamar Lee; mother, Eloise (Ella) Trotter; grandmother, Olivia Harris (100yrs old); four sisters, Vandora Taylor, Flora (Antonio), Cathy, Bridget; one brother, Austin Taylor and a half-sister, Connie Laurey. Bernard will also be missed by his grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of other relatives and friends.
