On an early Wednesday morning, September 11, 2024. Mr. Arthur L. Jackson (AJ) was called to his eternal resting place. Arthur was born on September 8, 1953.  He was born to Arthur Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson.

Arthur was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and attended Booker T. Washington High School. He was employed at Smithfield Packing and King Food for many years. He retired from Smithfield Packing, and after retirement, he worked for a cleaning service.

Arthur is predeceased by his father and mother in-law, Melvin and Audrey Brown; three sisters, Plump, Audrey and Annette Jackson; and his best friend, Ricky Williams.

Arthur is survived by four sons, Victor, Arthur, Antoine (Jessica Mitchell), Lil Arthur (Shaunda); his ex-wife and best friend until the day God came for him, Annette Jackson. two granddaughters, Artiana McLean (Pum-Pum) and Janai Newby; one grandson, Kevin Mitchell; two sisters, Elizabeth Purvis (Lucky) and Francine Jackson (Gloria).

He is also survived by his special nephew and friend, Carlos Nowlin and his very special friends, Bernard and Angela Clack, Gloria Gibson, Larry Walker, Jean Scott and James Robinson. Arthur is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, brothers and sister’s in-law and two god-children, Chantel Clack and Chiquita Clack.
