Our mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend took God’s hand and went quietly to her heavenly home on June 4, 2018. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Armelia Ortiz was born in New York, New York on May 20, 1929, to Julio Cambian Martinez and Eulalia Cambian of Puerto Rico.
She made her profession of faith at an early age and served as a member of the Catholic faith until her later life. Her love and devotion to God was then transferred to the Presbyterian Faith. She married Alfred Anthony Ortiz, who preceded her in death. God’s grace blessed Mrs. Ortiz to birth eight children.
Life was full of loving adventures for her, which included visiting and sharing with friends, taking trips to Atlantic City and sometimes gambling. she loved cooking and watching black and white movies on the television. In addition to being a housewife, she worked as a nurse at Barnert Hospital in Patterson, New Jersey for many years.
Armelia leaves to cherish her memories, four sons: Alfred A. Reyes, (Doris) of Salinas, CA; John John Ortiz, New York; George Greene, Jr. of Patterson, New Jersey and Alexander Ortiz
(Rebecca) of Virginia. She also leaves Diane Padilla (New York); Gertrude Fowler (deceased); Armelia Austin of Arizona and Janet Greene of New Jersey. Sharing her memories are many grandchildren , great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

June 13, 2018 at 12:48 pmI was sorry to read about the loss of your beloved family member. May the thought at Psalm 90:10 that speaks about our lifespan being 70 years or 80 if we are especially strong bring some comfort. It appears your family member had special mightiness to enjoy additional beautiful years.
