Arlene Neal was born on November 4, 1928 in North Carolina to the late Atlas and Ruby Jones. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Neal and six sisters and two brothers. Arlene worked at Doumar’s Cones and Barbeque for 52 years. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Chesapeake, VA. Left to cherish her precious memories are her children, James Johnson (Leola), Willie Jones, Vernice Lynn, Barbara Jones, Velma McDonald (Melvin), Teresa Thorton (Derek), Patricia Gordon (Lewis) and Rodney
Neal; siblings, Lenese Russel (Hardy) and Paul Jones; 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was known as Mom by everyone who knew her. She will be missed by All.

      Auntie there are no words again that explains why you left this Earth you were a truly great person to everybody so God pick that flower because he needed someone just like you to show the world how lovely you are how caring you are and in my heart you are and where a good mole role model for everyone again it hurts so bad to be here without you but I know God has plans for you so I know you will be a good candidate up in heaven so rest in peace my flower and we will meet again love you Nita

    Grandma Arlene you were the matriarch of the family and you welcome me with open arms from the first day we met. You have always been so nice and loving towards me, you were like my grandmother to me. Your smile, your laugh, your house gatherings and all your love will definitely be miss. We love you and you will be forever in our hearts.

    I can remember as a child comming to South Norfolk to Visit and there was always one constant in our lives Momma , LiL Bud and Arlene she was always like a second mother to us , still can remember that smile she would give whenever she saw family , always glad to see everyone , I known they are having a heck of a cool out in heaven , really gonna miss your lovely smile , love you auntie.
