Ms. Ardrena J. Anderson was born on December 18, 1945, in Winter Park, FL, to the late Mr. Booker T. Jordan and Ms. Pauline Jones Jordan. She was converted at an early age and joined the church fellowship, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She attended Hannibal Square Elementary School, played for the Winter Park Bobcats girls’ varsity basketball team, and was a cheerleader in high school, graduating from Hungerford High School in 1963. She married and had two children, Warren and Sherri Anderson. Later in life, she had two more children, Sabrena Milligan and April Harris. While having a family, she began her medical career as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Winter Park Hospital in Winter Park, FL. She also worked as a secretary in a medical office for several years before relocating to Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1993, where she held a Certified Nurse Assistant position until her retirement.
She took great pleasure in preparing holiday meals and crafting special dishes for her son, Warren. She embraced life with enthusiasm and was known for her adventurous spirit. During the 1980s, she supported the Winter Park girls’ softball team, accompanying them as they competed in various cities. After relocating from Virginia Beach to Portsmouth (Churchland), Virginia, she continued to enjoy social interactions and played a significant role in raising three generations of grandchildren.
She was later predeceased by her husband, Warren A. Anderson, Sr.; sister, Mellonese George; granddaughter, Syndi Stribling; and grandson, Nevin Drewry.
She impacted many lives through her acts of strength, love, and unspeakable kindness, whether helping a child in her neighborhood or feeding the homeless out of the trunk of her car. She was beloved by many and will be profoundly missed by her children, Warren, Sherri, Sabrena, and April; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, three brothers, and one special second cousin.
