Aonreke Richard Boyd

Sunrise: May 5, 1983

Sunset: March 10, 2020

On Tuesday, March 10, 2020, God’s angel of mercy peacefully came into our midst to escort Aonreke Richard Boyd to his eternal rest. Aonreke was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on May 5, 1983 to Dennis Boyd Jr. and the late Willie Mae Gallup-Boyd, the oldest of a set of fraternal twins.

Aonreke was a kind-hearted protector even from a very early age. His mother once shared a story of how before he could even speak in complete sentences, he ran his walker into her screaming and on the phone to alert her that his baby twin sister had somehow gotten a hold of a spoon and was trying to put it in an electrical socket. His deep concern for others carried over into his adulthood as he was always taking up for those who felt overlooked and encouraging those who were down. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and he never met a stranger. If you were blessed to have him as a friend, you truly had a friend for life.

Aonreke loved to dance and sing and was usually the first one to master any new dance that came out. He was always the life of the party with a knack bringing people together.
Aonreke attended Portsmouth Public Schools and graduated from I. C. Norcom High School, class of 2001. He completed his Associates Degree in Computer Technology at Norfolk State University where he was an active member of the Norfolk State University Spartan Legion Marching Band. These were some of his happiest memories and also where he met and impacted the lives of so many friends who are here today. Aonreke was an assistant manager at Lidl where he worked faithfully until the time of his passing.

Aonreke was preceded in death by his mother Willie Mae Boyd and his brother, Henry Duby Curtis Robinson. Left to cherish his loving memory are: His parents, Belva and Dennis Boyd Jr., of Norfolk, VA; Henry L. Robinson of Stone Mountain, GA.; Siblings: Dennis Boyd III (wife Alicia Boyd), Makena Davis (husband Joel Davis), Marcus Boyd and twin sister Aondrea Thompson (husband, Samuel Thompson), Artricia Robinson-Chambliss (husband Fredrick), Ebony Robinson and Marnate’ Rheins. Neices & Nephews: Kiawna Bell (Bob Bell), Ciara Franklin (Branon Franklin), Eshante Botero (GianCarlo Botero), Tatiana Boyd, Keishara Boyd, Dennis Boyd IV, Anjahla Boyd, Nialani Thompson, Anaiyah Davis, Mykah Thompson, Qayden Thompson, Katelyn Chambliss, Kyla Chambliss, Joshua Chambliss, Joi Chambliss, Nahameyioh Robinson Harlei Robinson, and a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and close friends.

I wish to extend to the family my deepest heartfelt sympathy & condolences at this time. But I also wish to encourage you that in the days and moments that we must go on in this earthly house but leave to rest the earthly house of our beloved Aonreke, know that his soul forever lives on for these earthly houses are just a temporary stay made of clay. But it’s in our fathers house that we get to live in many mansions, which now he gets to live in each & every heart he touched which is a building not made by mans hand. I thank you for allowing me to share a part of your loved one, so that I now can hold on also to a sweet precious memory. Forever praying your strength love you????
