Anthony was born on April 6,1979 to Deacon George Clifford and Catherine Harrell. Anthony excepted Christ at an early age and would be seen with his father Deacon George Harrell in church. He often rode the church van driven by his father Deacon Harrell transporting any and everyone who wanted to attend services. Anthony attended the Norfolk Public Schools graduating from Booker T. Washington High School.
Anthony was offered a full football scholarship to attend college which declined, not wanting to leave his mother after the passing of his father. Anthony later met and married Julia Chalmers from their union one child was born Keirra Harrell on January 3, 2001. Anthony was employed by Norfolk Public Schools where he served as a custodian engineer at Crossroads Roads Elementary school and also he worked for Diversified as a custodian as well. Anthony also known as Scooterboo and Big Ant by many was a big guy, with a heart of gold. If you came into contact with Anthony you loved him, his weakness to do for others was his gift. Anthony had true and unquestionable love for family, friends, fun and food. You could depend on him to be there for you through your moments of joy, tears and pain. He met every task when called on for assistance with pleasure and delight. Whether you needed a dollar, a meal, a ride ,a place to stay or security he was always there. If you needed a good laugh he was there. Anthony could bring a bit of sunshine to your cloudy day. Some of Anthony’s often used responses were “What in the world”, “Oh my God” and “um um um”. Anthony’s desire to listen and display care will truly be missed and will be forever appreciated.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father Deacon George C. Harrell, mother Catherine Harrell, eldest brother George L. Harrell, nephews Maurice Simmons and Shelvin Norfleet and niece Nhy’Eta Harrell. He leaves to cherish his memories his only daughter Keirra Harrell, his brother Jeffrey Harrell (Anita) his nieces Latesha Norfleet-Shields,Tiffany Harrell, Heida Harrell and Deloris Hutchinson and Sonja Norfleet- Newkirk and nephew Efrem Simmons. Two aunt’s Betty Newsome and Marcelina Cole as well as mother in law Juanita Teague. Many great nieces and nephews. He also leaves his close child hood friend Antonio Mullen. Along those who will share in the reflections of Anthony are many family members and friends.

July 18, 2020 at 1:37 amCousin Ant, I shall never forget our meeting for the first time in person at our Spain Family Reunion in Conway/Myrtle Beach, SC in 2019. Meeting our family who we’ve connected with on social media for years was the that reunion. Ant, you was a laid back quite and very observing. We all knew that you too, was just bubbling with joy to connect with your Spain family here in South Carolina. That first meeting in deed was and now shall be a lasting impression of a man resolute, love unwavering, support and commitment to family unquestionable and an indelible print upon our hearts and lives. Rest In Power Cousin. With Love and Deepest Sympathy, Cedric “Ced” and your Belin-Blain-Spain Family
