Anthony Eugene Griffin was born June 20, 1959 to the union of Edward Griffin, Sr. and the late Josephine P. Griffin.

A time to die…

Anthony “Tony” entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2018.

A time of every purpose under the heavens…

Tony attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.  He was a talented athlete who loved basketball and played on his high school’s team. Anthony also attended Norfolk State University.  He was employed at Cox Cable for a number of years.

A time to lose…

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine P. Griffin; grandmother, Alice P. Corey; sister, Cynthia Moore; brother, Edward Griffin, Jr.

A time to love…

On October 10, 2007, Anthony Griffin was united in holy matrimony to Gwendolyn Lynette Walston of Camden, North Carolina.

A time to weep and a time to mourn…

Tony leaves to cherish his loving memory, devoted wife, Gwendolyn W. Griffin, Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Alicia Griffin, Camden, New Jersey; father, Edward Griffin, Sr., Chesapeake, Virginia; sister, Deborah Marshall, Norfolk, Virginia; sister, Lisa Pittman, Norfolk, Virginia; brother Pastor Joseph Byrd (Brenda), Chesapeake, Virginia; brother Edward Charles Griffin, Baltimore, Maryland; aunt, Lois Thorogood; (4) brother in laws, (6) sister in laws, (4) nieces, (4) nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
