Annie Smith passed away the night of Friday, October II, 2024, in the comfort of her home.
Annie was born in Courtland, VA. She was the daughter of the late Percy Sugars and Nettie Turner. She was also the sibling of Eunice Burke and Romine Turner. She spent most of her early adulthood as a housewife to the late Frank Smith and later worked odd jobs.
Annie enjoyed fishing and sewing from early to mid-adulthood. She also enjoyed playing Solitaire, doing word search books, and putting together puzzles. She had a passion for food and watching her favorite TV shows. Annie loved the lord and was known to pray night and day. Although not very talkative, Annie loved to often think of her family members whom she truly loved very much. She had an unprecedented sweet-loving spirit.
She will be missed by her daughter Janice Smith, grandchildren Sophia Smith, Negus Negesti, Allen Sherrod, and Melvin Smith Jr., as well as a niece, a host of nephews, cousins (Ethel Epps), and daughter-in-law Angie Smith.
Annie is predeceased by her husband, Frank Smith, and her children, Evelyn Smith, Anthony Smith, James Smith, Melvin Smith, and Rodger Smith. Annie is also predeceased by grandchildren DeAngelo Smith and William S. Beavers Jr. and also niece Tammy Dozier.
