Our Mom’s, Grandmother and Friend Annie P. Gara earthly journey came to an end on April 28, 2021. Mrs. Ann as she was affectionally known by many was born May 5, 1932 in Windsor, North Carolina. She was born to the late Lavinia P. Knight who was Both her Mother and Father, as we were told.

Annie P. Gara was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and quickly became a housewife. She loved and enjoyed seeing the wonders of God. One of her greatest passions was to plant seeds and watch them grow. She loved to fish because, it gave her a sense of peace. She lived a simple life, but she possessed so much more to include her nurturing spirit that gave her comfort with taking care of animals, even breeding her dogs. Annie P. Gara dedicated her life to Jehovah, and she was an active Witness.

Annie was predeceased by her son Gary Peterson.

She was loved by many and she has left her imprint in many hearts such as her children Brenda V. Bridgers of Norfolk, Darvin M. Peterson Sr. (Phyllis) of California, Marcia Peterson Threats of Florida, Beverly R. Faison (James) of Norfolk, Wayne Peterson of Norfolk, Arviette D. Aparicio of Norfolk. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends.
