Angela Y. Conyers

Sunrise: December 11, 1959

Sunset: July 24, 2024

On July 24, 2024, our Angela Conyers peacefully passed away in her home in Suffolk, Virginia. She won her battle against Stage IV pancreatic cancer was rewarded with her heavenly body and was welcomed home by the Father. The world became a little brighter on December 11, 1959, when Angela was brought into the world by her mother Jaquetta Odom. Angela lived a full life that consisted of serving our country for 30 years in the Navy, teaching in the Suffolk and Norfolk Public School systems, and teaching middle school in China. She enjoyed traveling the world and immersing herself in different cultures. She also proudly wore many hats including, nurturer, educator, confidant, encourager, prayer warrior, and friend. Angela was also a part of Calvary Revival Church which she joined in 1998. She believed trusting in God was the secret to living a blessed life. She always felt God asking her “Do you trust me?” Angela’s peaceful transition answered this question and will forever be a reminder to her loved ones, to put their full trust in God. She leaves her inimitable daughter, Anastasia Conyers, and many loved ones to carry on her legacy.

I wish I could have said something to you as of late. I remembered we celebrated with you at one point. I remembered you fussing at me for fussing at you and then you danced. I thought, “if you have all that energy, you could walk faster”. I know you’re laughing at me. I was so happy to look out and see you at church. May your spirit forever rest with Jesus as your work on Earth is complete. One day, I intend to see you in spirit, in heaven.

Aunt Cousin Ann … as you remember me calling you that. I am so glad that you and I had the opportunity to chat before my graduation. I appreciated your kind words, the card from you and Anastasia and the joy of pride in your voice. I also remember you coming to Uncle Stu house to see me. You were loved and adored by all in your community. You memory will live on and we will cherish it.
