With deep sadness, we share that Amaris Karimah Johnson, beloved daughter of William Johnson, Sr., and Tahirah Johnson, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2025. Born on December 22, 2022, Amaris brought two incredible years of joy, love, and unforgettable moments to her family and everyone who knew her. While she is no longer with us here on earth, we take comfort in knowing she is now present with her Lord.
Amaris had a personality that could light up any room. She was strong-willed, joyful, and humorous—always doing things her way. Her daddy’s little “road warrior,” she loved nothing more than riding with him and watching him come through the door after a long day.
She adored her siblings—William, Jr., Carver, and Naila. Together, they were a team, playing and laughing like no one else could. Despite her small size, Amaris kept up with them effortlessly, always ready to jump into the fun. She had a way of leaving a lasting impression, whether through her big smile, her laugh, or her hugs—though those were given only on her terms.
Amaris loved spending time with her family. She would allow her “Unc-E” (Emmanuel Booth) to cuddle her and kiss her cheeks for just a moment before squirming away to play with Novah. She had a special connection with Bishop McLeod, who she greeted with a hug almost every Sunday during fellowship after praise and worship. At other times during the service, she could often be found spending time with Bro. Eugene and Bro. O’Dell, bringing smiles to their faces with her bright and cheerful personality.
She loved singing, especially her favorite songs: “Jesus Loves Me,” “The Reformation Hymn,” and anything the church choir sang. She found joy in the simple things—FaceTiming her “Grammy” (Kathy Booth), “Auntie LaLa” (Laisha Booth), and her daddy, watching Bluey, playing in the water, and visiting her grandma’s house. Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone she met.
She is survived by her parents, William, Sr., and Tahirah; her siblings, William, Jr., Carver, and Naila; her grandmother Kathy Booth; her aunts Shan’ta Johnson, and Laisha Booth; her uncle Emmanuel Booth; and her cousins Salome Johnson-Harris, Michael Booth, Novah Booth, and Ariana Booth.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Mark Booth and William Taft Johnson, Jr., and her grandmother, Florence Gertrude Johnson.
Amaris’ life, though brief, was a gift to her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind memories of love, laughter, and a light that can never be forgotten.

January 23, 2025 at 8:29 pmRemembering Amaris’ beautiful “BIG” life…and kissing those fat little cheeks. She was one loved little girl. I still don’t understand, but God does, and I know we believers will get to see her again and play with her all we want to. William, Tahirah, William Jr, Carver, Naila, Kathy, Emmanuel and her host of other family and friends, please know that we grieve with you, we cry with you and we pray you experience God’s infinite grace, comfort and strength to endure this loss. We’re thanging God for the time we had with her and for the knowledge that she is now in the safety of our heavenly Father’s arms, which is our source of joy in sorrow.

January 24, 2025 at 7:46 amWhen I think of Amaris, I see those beautiful doe-eyes looking at me. The most beautiful eyes. They are seared in my memory and I’m so thankful to have seen them. I continue to hold on to the consolation that she is with our Lord, and will not have to endure the suffering and heartache attached with this world.
Our hearts are with William, Tahira, William Jr., Carver, Naila, Mother Kathy, and all of those that loved her intimately. Even knowing we are celebrating her life, doesn’t take away how much she will be missed here with us. 🙏🏽

January 24, 2025 at 10:55 amI will never forget seeing Amaris grow from a tiny baby in a stroller to a curious, bright spirited toddler walking around the church halls and sanctuary. Her beautiful smile and strong willed personality ruling the roost in preschool group. Her siblings chasing after her, keeping her safe and in the right place. Our hearts are with you all as we celebrate her life. May the Holy Spirit continue to bring you peace and joy.

January 27, 2025 at 10:11 pmMy sweet memories of Amaris is when she would come in the jr hostess room on the Sunday’s when her sister would serve :-)
She wouldn’t say much, but it was obvious she loved her sister and wanted to be included in what she was a part of.
This is a hard loss and selfishly we would say just ‘too soon.
Johnson family, we are heart broken with you, and we will miss her. We will continue to serve a perfect God, and trust his plans for us all 🙏🏽
May you and your family continue to trust him during this time, for the comfort and peace that only He can provide.
We love you, Delvin and Brandi
