“Remembering Alicia Laverne Jenkins”
Sunrise: July 15, 1982 Sunsets: March 21, 2019
On Thursday March 21, 2019 in Norfolk, Virginia, Alicia Laverne Jenkins suddenly departed this life and entered a life of eternal peace with her Heavenly Father. Alicia was born July 1982 to Dwight & Alice Mae Jenkins in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Sammie Charlie Blount & Sarah Dillor Blount; Eugene Elles. Her cousin Ronnie Lacey Jr. and Larry Washington.
Alicia was educated in the public school system of Granby High in Norfolk, Virginia. She was fun loving daughter, mother, auntie and friend. She took life by the horns and dealt with life’s challenges. She embraced and enjoyed life to the upmost. If there was a celebration and or gathering of family or friends, she made every effort to attend. She loved her family, music, writing, coloring, dancing, and even singing. Her favorite song was, “Share My World”, by Mary J. Blige.
Alicia had a heart of giving and caring that made everyone feel accepted. This would put that non-erasable smile on her face that would light up the room, or as one could say, it was PRICELESS!!
She leave to cherish her memory six beautiful children (Five Daughters): Ajanea Jenkins, Jaimiyah Howard, Jamirria Futrell, Tameyah Futrell, Makhi Jenkins, (One Son): Westley Futrell; Her Loving Father & Mother: Dwight & Alice Jenkins; Her siblings: One Sister: Amanda Jenkins ; Five Brothers : Dwight Jenkins, DeOnne Jenkins, Demetric Jenkins, Derrick Jenkins, Damen Jenkins; Grandmother (1): Bessie Elles
Others Survivors: Ronnie Warren, Antoinette Keeling, God Daughter: Berreke Staton; Tom Brown; Host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts & Uncles, Great Aunts & Great Uncles, Cousins, Family and Friends…

April 2, 2019 at 11:04 amWe want to extend our deepest sympathy for your loss of Alicia which is the most devastating experience your family will face. At times, the pain of your loss will feel unbearable. Please know that there are friends who care about you and your family during this difficult time. Most importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that “God is near to those that are broken at heart. We pray that Jehovah the God of all comfort is with your family during this difficult time of grief.
