Alexander Joyner “Ankee” Norfolk – On Sunday August 14th 2022, Alexander Joyner passed away at his residence. Alexander was born March 21st 1933 in Burton Station Virginia Beach Va. He is one of 9 children to the late Clarence and Novella Joyner.

Alexander was married to the late Sylvia L. Joyner and this union blessed them with six remarkable children. He was also predeceased by his brothers Robert and Edward Joyner; sisters Thelma Walton, Novella Joyner and Vivian Joyner Willie; son Alexander Joyner Platt; daughter Gwendolyn Joyner.

Alexander leaves to cherish his memory children Clarence Joyner (Theresa), Clinton Platt (Hattie), Marie Walton (Elvis), Cornell Joyner (Sandy), Rudy Joyner (Kum), Phillip Joyner (Sonya), Rayvon Joyner and Dana Joyner (Teresa);one brother David Joyner; two sisters Lucy Simmons, Cora Joyner; one daughter in-law Lois Platt; one sister in-law Brenda Tynes Smith (Charles); three brother in-laws William Tynes Jr (Ann), Waverly Tynes (Li), Clifton Tynes and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
