Adrisa Annette Gaylord, known to us all “Ada” was called home on 13 September 2020. Ada was born to Samuel and Mildred Ricks on 29 November 1960 in Virginia. She grew up in the Bells Mill & Crestwood areas of Chesapeake. She was a great cook and would challenge anyone to a cookoff.

Ada is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Mildred Ricks; her husband, Clifton Gaylord, Jr.; one brother, Samuel Ricks, Jr. and her son, Madrice Antonio Ricks.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Clifton Gaylord, III (Hoodie) of Chesapeake and Clarence Gaylord of Norfolk; three sisters, Mary Valentine, Mildred (DeeDee) Cherry of Chesapeake and Sarah Ricks of Norfolk; three brothers, Willie Ricks, Sr. of Fayetteville, NC, David Ricks & William (Bill) Ricks of Chesapeake; twelve grandchildren, Jaeloni, Clifton IV, Iyanah, Aujunae, Kaemaron, Noah, Kytron, Amari, Tayshawn, Klariyanna, Klarissa and Qwalique and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
